Altera Stand-Alone Programmer (PL-ASAP2), together with appropriate programming adapters, provides hardware software needed programming EPROM- EEPROM-based devices, configuring SRAM-based devices. PL-ASAP2 includes Logic Programmer card, MPU, MAX+PLUS® Programmer software (which requires Microsoft Windows 3.x, Windows Windows NT), complete documentation. MAX+PLUS Programmer supports device configuration FLEX® 10K, FLEX 8000, FLEX 6000 devices, device programming MAX® 9000, 7000, 5000, ClassicTM, Configuration EPROM devices. Ordering Code: PL-ASAP2

Master Programming Unit

Programming Adapters
Altera provides three types programming adapters Altera devices: PLM-prefix adapters, PLE-prefix adapters, PLAD3-12 compatibility adapter. Each adapter contains following sockets: zero-insertion-force dual in-line package (DIP), plastic ceramic J-lead (PLCC/JLCC), pin-grid array (PGA), small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC), quad flat pack (QFP). Most adapters devices with more pins support Altera's carriers. Adapters with "NC" suffix program devices that carrier. Table page lists adapters required each Altera device package option.

PLM-Prefix Adapters
PLM-prefix adapters plug directly into MPU. Each adapter provides programming support specific device package. Additionally, PLM-prefix adapters (except PLMJ1213 PLMT1064) support functional testing programmed Altera devices. PLMJ1213 PLMT1064 adapters program Configuration EPROMs used configure FLEX 10K, FLEX 8000, FLEX 6000 devices.
PLE-Prefix Adapters
PLE-prefix adapters plug into PLAD3-12 compatibility adapter, which turn plugs into MPU. Each PLE-prefix adapter provides programming support specific Classic device.

PLAD3-12 compatibility adapter plugs directly into MPU. This adapter allows PLE-prefix adapters used with MPU. Table
