Functional Description
ByteBlasterMVparallel port download cable (ordering code: PL-BYTEBLASTERMV) hardware interface standard parallel port (also known port). This cable drives configuration data APEX 20K, FLEX (including FLEX 10KA FLEX 10KE), FLEX 8000, FLEX 6000 devices, well programming data 9000, 7000S, 7000A, 3000A devices. ByteBlasterMV Connections
ByteBlasterMV cable 25-pin male header that connects parallel port, 10-pin female plug that connects circuit board. Data downloaded from PC's parallel port through ByteBlasterMV cable circuit board connections discussed this section. configure 2.5-V APEX FLEX 10KE devices using ByteBlasterMV download cable, connect pull-up resistors 3.3-V power supply, cable's 3.3-V power supply, device's VCCINT 2.5-V power supply. configuration, device's VCCIO must connected 2.5-V 3.3-V power supply. ByteBlasterMV must connected either APEX FLEX 10KE JTAG configuration, 7000A 3000A JTAG in-system programming. device VCCIO connected either 2.5-V 3.3-V power supply.

MAX+PLUS Compiler automatically generates FLEX 10K, FLEX 8000, FLEX 6000 device configuration, 9000, 7000S, 7000A, 3000A device programming. Attach ByteBlasterMV cable parallel port insert 10-pin female plug into prototype system containing target device. board must supply power ByteBlasterMV cable. Windows operating system, driver must installed before using ByteBlasterMV cable. MAX+PLUS Getting Started Manual instructions installing ByteBlasterMV drivers.

Open MAX+PLUS Programmer. Choose Hardware Setup command (Options menu) specify ByteBlasterMV cable appropriate port. "Changing Hardware Setup" MAX+PLUS Help more information. MAX+PLUS software automatically loads programming file current project (either SOF), first programming file multi-device project. specify another programming file, choose Select Programming File (File menu) specify correct file. JTAG FLEX-chain programming configuration, perform following steps: program configure devices JTAG chain (multi- single-device chain), turn Multi-Device JTAG-Chain (JTAG menu) choose Multi-Device JTAG Chain Setup multi-device JTAG chain. "Setting Multi-Device JTAG Chains" MAX+PLUS Help more information. JTAG chain includes either FLEX devices exclusively, create just JTAG Chain File (.jcf).
