Preface
Intended Audience
This user's guide provides description features u-center evaluation software. will allow users evaluate test u-blox receivers navigation positioning performance. This guide assumes, user basic computer skills familiar with Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI) receiver environments. have questions about installing using u-center please: Read this user's guide carefully. Refer ANTARISEvalKit User's Guide introduction ANTARISGPS Technology overview about evaluate receivers. Read System Integration Manual u-blox receiver used your application. Check page (www.u-blox.com) support section ensure receiver ucenter software latest versions. Refer based Frequently Asked Questions Database (FAQ).
Features
u-center Evaluation Software provides system integrators users with quick simple interface with u-blox board sensor product. enables easy evaluation, performance testing, development debugging receivers. u-center Evaluation Software allows easy connection ublox products provides suite features view, log, analyze performance. features include: Support latest u-blox receivers using ANTARISGPS technology, which excellent acquisition tracking performance very power consumption. u-center communicate with these receivers using either protocol, NMEA-0183 standard protocol. Support receivers that utilize standard NMEA strings.
u-center presents information that collected during operation receiver. aspects data (position, velocity, time, satellite tracking, etc.) monitored logged under various test scenarios evaluation receiver. u-center software allows analysis collected data order investigate performance issues such accuracy, road test position trajectory, satellite tracking, time first fix, etc. processed data captured ASCII format ported into popular spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Excel) creating additional plots statistics. This guide explains u-center communicate with receiver collection, visualization analysis receiver data. Please refer ANTARISEvalKit User's Guide introduction ANTARISGPS Technology well description evaluate receiver.

Concept Philosophy
Understanding basic concept behind u-center important order highest benefit this powerful evaluation software. Figure depicts architecture software. program gets data stream either from port logfile splits this stream into protocol messages. From messages, relevant parameters extracted inserted into current dataset database. current dataset statistical values parameters calculated. Average, Minimum, Maximum Standard Deviation calculated most parameters. protocol does provide parameter, u-center tries calculate parameter from ones that available. Example velocity-north velocity-east available, u-center calculates Speed over Ground Course over Ground, unless this data already available protocol.

When epoch (change time) detected, current dataset stored history database. This history limited size. Size exceeded u-center keeps only latest datasets oldest ones removed. history size adjusted. Refer section 3.2.5 details u-center provides various view classes observation. Most views take their data from database. there some views, which their data directly from message without using database all. views updated when database changes. 4.5.1.1
Regular Expression Evaluation
Normally, when search sub-string string, match should exact. search substring "abc" then string being searched should contain these exact letters same sequence match found. extend this kind search case insensitive search where sub-string "abc" will find strings like "Abc", "ABC" etc. That case ignored sequence letters should exactly same. Sometimes, case insensitive search also enough. example, want search numeric digit, then basically searching each digit independently. This where regular expressions come help. Regular expressions text patterns that used string matching. Regular expressions strings that contain plain text special characters indicate what kind matching Here's very brief tutorial using regular expressions. Suppose, looking numeric digit then regular expression would search "[0-9]". brackets indicate that character being compared should match characters enclosed within bracket. dash between indicates that range from Therefore, this regular expression will match character between that digit. want search special character literally must backslash before special character. example, single character regular expression "\*" matches single asterisk. table below special characters briefly described. regular expression search case sensitive.

Menu Structure Page
Character 4.5.1.2
Description Beginning string. expression "^A" will match only beginning string. caret immediately following left-bracket different meaning. used exclude remaining characters within brackets from matching target string. expression "[^0-9]" indicates that target character should digit. dollar sign will match string. expression "abc$" will match substring "abc" only string. alternation logic character allows either expression side match target string. expression "a|b" will match well `b'. will match character. asterisk indicates that character left asterisk expression should match more times. plus similar asterisk there should least match character left sign expression. question mark matches character left times. parenthesis affects order pattern evaluation. Brackets enclosing characters indicates that enclosed characters match target character.
