Cushioned Shield-Kon® Connector Shield-Kon Connector System multiple-conductor shielded cable based principle cold swaging. utilizes two-piece compression connector color-coded match proper die. connector consists hard brass collector inner ring with tough, smooth insulator soft copper compression outer ring. Each rings matching installing will connect minimum shielding braids with ground wire. maximum number braids limited only space between inner outer rings. design advantages are: Positive selection inner outer sleeves installing complete color-coded system. more reliable grounding termination because only ground wire connection made conventional daisy chain jumper method eliminated. Smaller, more compact bundle easy inspect. Only ground wire required, however additional ground wires used needed. Smooth insulator protects conductor insulation. With stroke tool, interlace will produce 360° compression uniformly securing individual shields around connector.

Multi-Shielded Cable Connector Installation Procedure
After overall insulation removed expose shielded cables, each conductor must freed from shielding braid. Thomas Betts lead extractor tool simplifies this operation pushing inner conductor through opening shielding braid. braid then folded back until conductors freed. Lead Ext. Table, page L13.
Position outer compression ring over flattened shielding braid, locating over center inner collector ring. Braid trimmed even with edge outer compression ring before after compression. Ground wire wires inserted between outer compression ring shield prior compression.
Completed installation "single fold"-"fold forward" method typifies reliability, compactness neatness which obtained with Thomas Betts recommended installation methods. Easier quicker install compression grounds conductors simultaneously. Improved reliability multiple connector errors eliminated. Smaller, less bulky bundle diameter eliminates individual connectors daisy chained jumpers. Reduce installed cost fewer parts, less installation inspection time. Smooth nylon insulator acts cushion protect conductors.
