L7205 targeted emerging Internet/Information appliance markets. This "system-on-silicon" device delivers high performance, power, highly integrated, cost system solutions. L7205 ideally suited Information/Internet appliances; such wireless Internet terminals, smart phones, Pocket PCs, Webpads, screen phones, low-cost boxes, terminals. L7205 provides easy upgrade path from L7200 maintaining register compatibility.
Architecture
L7205 designed provide highest system performance lowest power dissipation. Separate data busses instruction access (from ROM/Flash) data access (from DRAM) permit on-chip operate highest efficiency without waiting screen refresh cycles. Data transfer operations with DMA-backed on-chip peripherals require minimal intervention, provide high throughput, and, same time, save power. device's architecture permits design very cost systems. example, minimum system built with just SDRAM MultiMediaCard(flash card), without using ROMs.

L7205 system-on-silicon chip designed provide high performance, low-power solution cost-sensitive applications; such Pocket PCs, smart phones, wireless Internet terminals, Web-pads, screen phones, low-cost box, terminal. L7205 includes on-chip ARM720Tcore with PiccoloDSP coprocessor. ARM720Twith coprocessor RISC with ARM®'s instruction extensions provide high code density required cost consumer products. employs Kbytes on-chip unified cache, write buffer, with 64-entry buffer. core includes engine with instruction cache (512Byte) applications such soft modem, decode, speech compression, JPEG compression other real time applications. chip block diagram above shows major subsystems integrated chip. memory subsystem consists high performance SDRAM controller separate Static Memory Controller. separating SDRAM controller from Static Memory Controller, bandwidth bottleneck, typically present single systems, removed. L7205SDB Development System includes device drivers, software framework, sample code, documentation, many build development tools required start development activities based L7205. software on-chip co-processor developed using L7205 Toolkit. Symbian Quartz separately licensed from Symbian Windows® Platform Builder separately available from Microsoft.
