Dual Channel 2.5A Dropout Regulator
RELIMINARY
LX8817 dual channel positive-voltage linear regulator. This dual regulator fixed output coupled with adjustable output. Each channel features low-dropout high accuracy. LX8817 utilizes dual inputs that used separate sources control power sections. This configuration reduces power dissipation operating regulator near dropout (VPWR-VOUT 0.6V 2.5A) while providing sufficient operating headroom control logic. LX8817 provides designers with efficient flexible power management solution, minimal printed circuit board area, shorter design cycles. Each channel supply 2.5A independently with regulator design optimized system efficiency consuming minimal ground current directing quiescent current load. LX8817 features on-chip trimming internal voltage reference, enabling precise output voltages, typically it's specified value. Power sequencing logic ensures proper startup regardless level VCTRL VPWR. LX8817 outputs remain while VPWR 2.7V. Thermal Short Circuit Current Protection integrated on-chip operate independently each regulator output. LX8817 regulator stable with low-value output capacitor, typically 10µF tantalum ceramic outputs, allowing designers flexibility external component selection. Linfinity's S-PAK power package offers maximum power dissipation ease assembly using surface mount technology.
