Safety Symbols Meanings
requirements shown "WARNING" sentences ignored, equipment cause serious personal injury death. requirements shown "CAUTION" sentences ignored, equipment malfunction. means important information using this product.
WARNING CAUTION IMPORTANT
Example:
addition three above, following also used appropriate. means WARNING CAUTION. CAUTION AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK means PROHIBITION. Example: DISASSEMBLY PROHIBITED
means FORCIBLE ACTION. Example: UNPLUG POWER CABLE FROM RECEPTACLE.
following pages describe symbols "WARNING", "CAUTION", "IMPORTANT".
Precautions Safety
WARNING
Warning Installation:
this product water areas high humidity. Spilling water some other liquid into main unit cause unrepairable damage.
Warning Environment:
This equipment used environment with maximum ambient temperature 35°C. Care should taken that this temperature exceeded.
CAUTION
Cautions Taken This Product:
disassemble modify this product personal. Disassembling modifying this product cause damage. caution when handling main unit. careful apply mechanical shock. touch directly connector pins emulator main unit target connector pins with your hand. pull emulation main unit FLX120-RPD flexible cable FLX100 flexible cable connecting target system. flexible cables FLX120-RPD FLX100 different from earlier models. slits make them more flexible. However, excessive flexing force break conductors. inch-size screws this equipment. screws used this equipment (meter-size) type screws. When replacing screws, same type screws used equipment.
Cautions Installation:
place main unit side when use.
IMPORTANT
Notes PC4701 Emulators:
PC4700H emulators whose serial number ends with number cannot used with M306V0TRPD-E. only products whose serial number ends with letter alphabet. serial number bottom PC4700H. Example: 5KE100 used with M306V0T-RPD-E. Requires upgrade. Example: 5LE123B used with M306V0T-RPD-E. turn power when downloading firmware. emulator powered middle process, will become unable start normally. cases when power inadvertently shut off, re-execute downloading.
Notes Abnormal Operation:
PC4701 system does pass self-checks (excluding when target system error occurs), there possibility trouble system. such case, contact place purchase. Please take note that self-check should executed under following conditions. target system connected. Switch position, '16' (see Chapter emulator malfunctions external interference some other causes, follow steps given below. Press system reset switch located front panel emulator. emulator does return normal operation despite step above, turn power source emulator, turn again.
Notes Target System:
Because emulation does have capacity supply power other devices, design your system that emulator powered target system. Make sure that target's supply voltage within specification range +4.5 change power supply voltage target system after activating power. Before turning power anything, check host machine, emulator main unit, emulation pod, conversion board user's target system properly connected. Activate power units explained here following. Turn power target system, then PC4701 continuously. After turning power PC4701, check Target Status LEDs emulator' front panel M306V0T-RPD-E ready operate. power supplied? Check that Target Status (POWER) reset released? Check that Target Status (RESET) off.
IMPORTANT
Notes Connecting Target System:
When connecting FLX100 flexible cable converter board, careful forcibly press connector converter board. (The flexible cable converter board guaranteed only insertion/removal iterations.) Especially careful insert converter board wrong direction.
Note Reset Input from Target System:
reset input from target system accepted only during program execution (while signal lamp PC4701 lit).
Note HOLD Input from Target System:
Input level signal into HOLD only during program execution. Doing while program stopped during time debugging cause emulator malfunction.
Note Address Access:
With M16C/6V group MCUs, when maskable interrupt generated, interrupt data (interrupt number interrupt request level) stored address read out. Also, interrupt request cleared when address read out. Consequently, when address readout instruction executed when address read cause program runaway, malfunction occurs that interrupt executed despite interrupt request, because request highest priority interrupt factor enabled cleared. Therefore, with M306V0T-RPD-E, address read anything other than interrupt processing, yellow lights warning. When this lights there possibility illegal access address therefore check program. This extinguished from emulator reset switch.
IMPORTANT
Notes Differences between Actual Emulator:
Emulator operation differs from mask operation, listed below: Reset condition Initial values internal resource data power-on Internal capacities, etc. Ports M306V0T-RPD-E's ports, ports connected user's target system through port emulation circuit inside M306V0T-RPD-E. Table gives device which uses these ports. Table device used each ports

Writing into pullup control registers (addresses 03FC16 03FD16 respectively) write into pullup control registers (addresses 03FC16 03FD16 respectively), necessary write word data from address 03FC16. This M306V0T-RPD-E restriction. Ports enable pullup when setting (PUR12) pullup register single chip mode, sure (PM02) (PM07) processor mode register '0'. This M306V0T-RPD-E restriction. BCLK output disable disable BCLK output, necessary BCLK output disable (PM07) processor mode register (address 000416) port direction register (address 03EB16) '0'. This M306V0T-RPD-E restriction. Hold control When level signal input terminal HOLD terminal enters hold state, actuality, ports enter hold state half cycle later than (see Chapter Operation Timing). converter converter characteristics differ from actual characteristics because flexible cable other elements used between emulation user's target. (10) Status while program stopped system using PC4701, loop iteration address F800016 establishes maintains status during program stop. Also, when debug commands issued check edit memory data, addresses F800016 F83FF16 addresses F600016 F63FF16 used work area. this reason, when output enabled microprocessor mode, signal output.

Chapter Troubleshooting
10.1 When M306V0T-RPD-E Does Work Properly
Emulator main unit cannot powered Check power cord firmly plugged into receptacle. Check power 3P-2P converting connector firmly connected.
M306V0T-RPD-E does start when target system connected with PC4701 system. (The Error emulator main unit lights up.) Check described above. Check whether emulator main unit FLX120-RPD firmly connected. Check whether FLX120-RPD M306V0T-RPD-E firmly connected. Check whether M306V0T-RPD-E target system firmly connected. Check whether power supplied target system. Check whether switches M306V0T-RPD-E firmly set. (Refer Chapter setting switches.) Check whether RESET held 'HIGH' when target system connected. Check whether HOLD held 'HIGH' when microprocessor memory expansion mode. Check whether oscillator circuit target system oscillating correctly when using target's oscillator. Check whether correct firmware downloaded emulator main unit. (Refer user's manual emulator debugger about download firmware.)
PC4701 system does pass self-checks (excluding when target system error occurs), there possibility trouble system. such case, contact place purchase. Please take note that self-check should executed under following conditions. target system connected.
