MAX9989 MAX9990 buffers provide high output (+14dBm +20dBm) necessary drive inputs high-linearity passive mixers, while offering 40dB reverse isolation prevent pulling. Detailed Description
MAX9989/MAX9990 buffers each consist single-input amplifier, output amplifier, second buffer amplifier drive LO's PLL. bias currents amplifiers adjustable through off-chip resistors, allowing output level precision anywhere from +14dBm +20dBm. output preset +3dBm (about 900mVP-P into 50). Power levels typically ±1dB over full supply, input power, temperature range. Precision power control achieved internal control circuitry. Maintaining tight power control keeps system engineer from over specifying drive order guarantee linearity specification base-station mixer. More than 40dB isolation between output input prevents pulling. MAX9989 specified from 700MHz 1100MHz, MAX9990 specified from 1500MHz 2200MHz. Both offered compact 20pin thin packages with
Input Amplifier
single low-noise input amplifier provides gain isolation. compressed output power this stage controlled bias setting resistors (see Typical Application Circuit). These resistors required nominal +17dBm output; Table bias resistor values obtain +14dBm +20dBm output power. input internally matched typical VSWR more than over operating conditions. Since input internally biased, provide block input pin.
