TOUCH SCREEN SENSOR INTERFACE UR7HCTS2-U560 acquire data from five-wire resistive touch screen sensor, regardless size, material vendor. sensor interface following features:
Touch detection
periodically checks touch pressure applied panel. there touch, does perform measurements does send data system. When touch pressure detected, further qualifies determines amount pressure. Semtech's proprietary, patent-pending touch detection algorithm performs this test very quickly, accommodating sensors with various plate-to-plate capacitances.
Touch measurement
Position information collected only touch pressure sufficient accurate reading. 5-wire touch screen panels. resistive panel supplying voltage gradient. other conductive panel used touch voltage. obtain position information from resistive touch screen sensor, UR7HCTS2-U560 uses four internal drivers (three pins each driver) sense line. During sampling, drivers X-axis activated setting X-drive high other X-drive low. sense plane floating. This action produces voltage gradient across touch screen's surface direction. internal measures both voltage across activated X-plane voltage potential between planes. Next, drivers Y-axis activated. Again, internal measures both voltage across activated plane potential between planes. absolute position obtained from these measurements.
Touch algorithm
vibration electrical noise, data used directly. Internal data processing delivers consistent position accuracy quick touch response.
Resolution
UR7HCTS2-U560 uses built-in converter touch position. maximum absolute position resolution 1000 points each axis. Resolution varies somewhat different touch screen sensors, voltage droop connecting wires sensor's mechanical construction.
Touch screens from different manufacturers
Operating parameters touch screens from different manufacturers vary depending sensor's size, material, mechanical construction. UR7HCTS2-U560 allows these differences adjusts automatically plate-to-plate capacitance, intrinsic plate resistances, etc. supports every kind 5-wire touch screen, regardless manufacturer materials.
