Each optocoupler tested degradation characteristics (change current transfer ratio). degradation behavior optocouplers tested during short burn-in provides information long-term stability. Only optocouplers showing minimum change current transfer ratio during burn-in supplied. These optocouplers feature excellent longterm stability. Test procedure: First data logging coupling factor (CTRl) IF=1 VCE=5 logged. Load Short-time burn-in: emitter loaded with forward current lF=150 room temperature (25°C) minutes. Second data logging coupling factor (CTR2) IF=1 VCE=5 logged. Evaluation Determination relative change coupling factor: DCTR (%)=100 (1-CTR2/CTRl) change coupling factor DCTR caused burn-in greater than defined range. Thus high long-term stability coupling factor shown graph specified. couplers show similar degradation behavior meaning that even after longer operating time coupling factor spread very wide.
