CA3059 CA3079 zero-voltage switches monolithic silicon integrated circuits designed control thyristor variety power switching applications input voltages 24V, 120V, 208/230V, 277V 50Hz-60Hz 400Hz. Each zero-voltage switches incorporates functional blocks (see Functional Block Diagram) follows: Limiter-Power Supply Permits operation directly from line. Differential On/Off Sensing Amplifier Tests condition external sensors command signals. Hysteresis proportional-control capability easily implemented this section. Zero-Crossing Detector Synchronizes output pulses circuit time when cycle zero voltage point; thereby eliminating radio-frequency interference (RFI) when used with resistive loads. Triac Gating Circuit Provides high-current pulses gate power controlling thyristor. addition, CA3059 provides following important auxiliary functions (see Functional Block Diagram). built-in protection circuit that actuated remove drive from triac sensor opens shorts. Thyristor firing inhibited through action internal diode gate connected Terminal High-power comparator operation provided overriding action zero-crossing detector. This accomplished connecting Terminal Terminal Gate current thyristor continuous when Terminal positive with respect Terminal CA3059 CA3079 supplied lead dual-inline plastic packages.
