CX77312 Power Amplifier Module (PAM) designed compact form factor quad-band cellular handsets comprising GSM850/900, DCS1800, PCS1900 operation. also supports Class General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) multi-slot operation. module consists separate GSM850/900 DCS1800/PCS1900 blocks, impedance-matching circuitry input output impedances, Power Amplifier Control (PAC) block with internal current-sense resistor. custom CMOS integrated circuit provides internal function interface circuitry. Fabricated onto single Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) die, Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) block supports GSM850/900 bands other supports DCS1800 PCS1900 bands. Both blocks share common power supply pins distribute current. GaAs die, Silicon (Si) die, passive components mounted multi-layer laminate substrate. assembly encapsulated with plastic overmold. input output ports CX77312 internally matched reduce number external components quad-band design. Extremely leakage current (2.5 typical) dual module maximizes handset standby time. CX77312 also contains band-select switching circuitry select (logic DCS/PCS (logic determined from Band Select (BS) signal. Functional Block Diagram below, selects output (DCS/PCS OUT) Analog Power Control (VAPC) controls level output power. VBATT IREG pins connect internal current-sense resistor interface integrated power amplifier control (PAC) function, which insensitive variations temperature, power supply, process.
