General Information Specifications
This module designed exclusively mount Allen-Bradley 1746 racks with Allen-Bradley SLC500 fixed modular systems. 1746scIA8I, IB8I, -IC8I, -IM8I feature isolated-circuit inputs, each with common. These modules also feature broad operating ranges increased versatility. They designed with wide variety input devices, such limit switches, float switches, selector switches, pushbuttons, proximity switches (photo-sensors). They even monitor relay motor starter outputs directly. 1746sc-OAP8I provides triac-controlled, isolated-circuit outputs, each with common. module also provides broad operating range increased versatility. designed with high inductive loads, such solenoids, relays, motor starters. Unlike relay outputs, triac outputs require back-EMF surge suppression many inductive loads. triac output module also good replacement relay output module when solid-state speed reliability desired.

Installing Your Module Into Chassis
WARNING EXPLOSION HAZARD When hazardous locations, turn power before replacing wiring modules. Failure observe this precaution cause equipment damage, severe personal injury, death.
WARNING POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT OPERATION DAMAGE Always remove power from chassis backplane terminal block before removing installing module. Failure remove power from backplane terminal block cause module damage, degraded performance, injury. Failure remove power from backplane also cause injury equipment damage possible equipment operation.
This equipment suitable Class Division Groups non-hazardous locations only. Before installing your module into SLC500 chassis, make sure that nothing will block ventillation above below your module. Also, high ambient temperatures, need install forced cooling prevent excessive heat buildup. install your module into chassis, follow these steps:

Apply firm even pressure your module attach backplane connector. Never force your module into slot. Cover unused slots with Card Slot Filler, Allen-Bradley part 1746-N2. remove your module, follow these steps: Turn power chassis. Remove terminal block field device wiring necessary. Press retaining clips bottom your module.

Optional: Remove supplied 18-position terminal block from module. remove terminal block, unscrew retaining screws bottom terminal block, pull terminal block loose. Wire field devices your module shown following wiring diagrams, using maximum wire size maximum wires terminal. recommended terminal screw torque in.-lb. Install wire slot below terminal block secure wires.
