General Description
Aeroflex's ACT8616 Power Supply Module Triple Output unit designed power newest generation 3.3V 2.5V processors such ACT7000ASC-300 advanced airborne applications used platforms such tactical missiles, airborne computers fighter aircraft. ACT8616 provides +2.5V 11A, +3.3V processor core operate peripheral logic. ACT8616 uses interleaved forward topology with schottky rectifiers high efficiency. output primary regulated output secondary regulation provided magnetic amplifiers +2.5V +3.3V outputs. outputs tied common return, with separate remote sensing provided +2.5V +3.3V outputs ground sense. optocouplers used primary feedback path assure long term total dose hardness. Internal suppression circuitry designed meet requirements MIL-STD-461E. Holdup provided power dropouts. Reset signals derived from +2.5V +3.3V outputs. When either 2.5V output below 2.25V 3.3V output below 2.97V level reset signal SYS_RESET_N asserted (low). 40mS after both outputs above stated thresholds SYS_RESET_N de-asserted (set high) commence processor operation. unique cross conduction circuit provided ACT8616 detect prevent improper power sequencing core processor. 2.5V clamped 3.3V event 3.3V ever lower than 2.5V; should 3.3V ever exceed 2.5V more than clamp fixes 3.3V output maximum 1.2V above 2.5V output. PS_FAULT_N signal asserted (low) when cross conduction circuit actuated. ACT8616 fabricated encapsulated Chip-On-Board (COB) module aluminum housing designed conduction cooled chassis sidewalls interconnected system D-Connectors.
