Evaluation Board Description
AC-Coupled Evaluation Board SY89851U packaged 16-pin MLFTM. SY89851U evaluation board designed operate with single 2.5V±5% 3.3V±10% power supply configured AC-coupled mode. high-speed input channels brought connectors through matched length AC-coupled differential strip-line traces. DC-operating point VCC-1.3V VREF-AC output pin, which connected input device. outputs brought connectors through matched length AC-coupled differential strip-line traces, which allow board interface directly with equipment. Although evaluation board's default mode AC-coupled evaluation board reconfigured DC-coupled mode modifying board. AC-Coupled Input recommended that input left AC-coupled input mode ease use. this mode, signals will automatically bias correct DC-operating point, which VCC-1.3V since VREF-AC connected input. Therefore, inputs driven differential signal small 100mV (200mVpp) without level shifting termination resistor network signal path.
DC-Coupled Evaluation Board SY89851U evaluation board configured DC-coupled mode removing capacitors C8-C11 replacing components with resistors.
Interfacing Equipment
Interfacing board equipment DCcoupled mode involves using split supplies. 2.5V Split Supply Configuration: 1.2V -1.3V
3.3V Split Supply Configuration: 1.2V -2.1V
Interfacing LVPECL Systems
Interfacing DC-coupled output LVPECL system requires single power supply source. Single Power Supply Setup: 2.5/3.3V Single-ended scope Unused compliment output should terminated into ground. Unused output pairs Unused pairs left floating with impact jitter.

Setting Evaluation Board following steps describe procedure setting evaluation board: 3.3V, turn supply. Using differential signal source amplitude 400mV (single-ended) 800mV (differential). offset positive value, value offset critical, since AC-coupled inputs will automatically bias voltage. Turn disable outputs signal source. Using equal length impedance coaxial cables, connect signal source inputs evaluation board. Using equal length impedance coaxial cables, connect outputs evaluation board oscilloscope other equipment with internal termination. Enable signal source monitor outputs.
