Altima AC208 highly integrated 0.25u CMOS silicon solution. combines functions 10/100 dual-speed bridged repeater including transceiver, internal repeaters, repeater backplane busses expansion, twoport bridge with embedded memory. AC208 contains eight 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet transceivers, which configured into fullduplex uplink port. transceivers perform physical layer interface functions 10BASE-T Ethernet Category unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet Category cable. AC208 represents marked improvement over previous generation dual-speed bridged repeater family AC108R. Because memory embedded silicon, AC208 offers obvious advantage cost savings discrete memory device. Additionally, 128-pin PQFP package means savings manufacturing testing. Because AC208 smallest footprint lowest power consumption, per-port basis, micro-LAN solution, when system costs considered power, heat,
