Precautions General precautions
Make sure design circuit such manner that current flows which exceed rating specified each product. sustained excess current will cause degradation insulation orland connection overheating connector. basic function connector such that connection completed when male female connectors together. connector designed prevent reverse-fitting, make sure that male female connectors fitted together correct orientation. Forcibly inserting connector reverse orientation will result damage housing pins, thus marring function connector. possible, apply force evenly across connector when connecting parting male female connectors. Excessive prying connector insertion/removal will result damage hous-ing pins. shape molded parts such housing change prevent warp etc. However, this does affect performance parts. color molded parts such housing differ from manufacturing another; however, this does affect performance.
Precautions operating environment
Atmosphere Avoid, wherever possible, exposure organic gases, dusty locations. salty/humid environments which damage reliability connection. connectors likely exposed while connected, make sure that they placed indoors where they protected from such environments described above devices themselves have such structure making such protection possible. Operating When removing connectors with lock function, sure unlock them. Forcibly remov-ing connectors without unlocking them cause lock weakened worst case, cause damage lock. Handling Avoid dropping handling products carelessly. Never connectors which have been dropped: excessive impact have been applied pins, causing them bend damaging connection reliability.
Precautions mounting (surface-packaging type excluded)

(This very important especially printed boards mounting press-fit connectors,) Inserting press-in type connectors into back panel When inserting connector, consider suitable insertion force number pins before determining specifications pressing machine. press fitting requires dedicatedjig tools (such ones having structure press down stopper).
Storing connectors
Avoid storing connectors under high-temperature high-humidity conditions. Avoid dusty places.
