PROTECTED QUAD POWER DRIVER
Providing interface between low-level logic power loads, UDK/UDN/UDQ2547B UDK/UDN/UDQ2547EB quad power drivers combine logic gates high-current bipolar outputs with complete output protection. Each four outputs will sink state. outputs have minimum breakdown voltage (load dump) sustaining voltage inputs compatible with CMOS logic systems include internal pull-down resistors ensure that outputs remain inputs open-circuited. Over-current protection each channel been designed into these devices activated approximately protects each output from short circuits with supply voltages When maximum driver output current reached, that output drive reduced linearly, maintaining constant load current. over-current short circuit condition continues, each channel independent thermal limit circuit which will sense rise junction temperature turn individual channel that fault. These devices monitor their outputs open shorted conditions. Both conditions sensed comparing input output states. Note that FAULT output operational only ENABLE input high. When fault condition sensed, FAULT output will state. external FAULT output filter capacitor (0.1µF) recommended eliminate erroneous switching. INCANDESCENT LAMP DRIVER
SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT LIMIT
High incandescent lamp turn-ON/in-rush currents contribute poor lamp reliability destroy semiconductor lamp drivers. Warming (parallel) current-limiting (series) resistors protect both driver lamp significant power either when lamp when lamp respectively. Lamps with steady-state current ratings driven without need warming current-limiting resistors, lamp turn-ON time concern.
