Power Management
GM3326 series step-up/down DC/DC converter controller with fast, resistance drivers built-in. versatile, large output current, step-up/ down DC/DC converter realised using only basic external components transistors, coils, diodes capacitors. Output voltage selectable 0.1V steps within 2.4V 6.0V 2.5% accuracy) range switching frequency 300KHz. GM3326 series switches from control during light loads series offers high efficiencies from light loads through large output currents. Soft-start time internally msec which offers protection against rush currents when power switched also against voltage overshoot. During shutdown consumption current reduced little 0.5µA less.

<Error Amp.> error amplifier used output voltage monitor. compares reference voltage with feedback from voltage divided internal resistor. Should voltage higher than reference voltage fedback, output error will increase. <PWM Comparator> comparator compares output error with ramp wave. When voltage output error low, EXT/ will level (Switching time). <Ramp Wave Generator> ramp wave generator, name suggests, generates switching frequency's ramp wave. <PWM Controller> With GM3326 series, control automatically switched between according size load. <Vref with Soft Start, start Vref voltage error amp's input gradual internal capacitor current circuit. Because this soft-start function, operations error amp's inputs balanced EXT/ pin's time manipulated produce longer times. Further, with UVLO function, signal will such turn switch until instability internal circuit stabilizes during soft-start time. Even cases where input voltage produce instability UVLO function will operate switch will turned OFF.

above graph shows that over wide input voltage range, efficiency GM3326 more less constant. applications that either standard cell battery cell lithium battery obtain output 3.3V, example, efficiency GM3326 again much better. Because GM3326 does have series regulator output, recommend test with samples applications where ripple voltage problem.
External Components Selection (Notes)
performance DC/DC converter circuit heavily reliant upon performance surrounding circuitry components. particular, since voltage Schottky Diode used will have direct effect upon efficiency, smaller diode, better efficiency obtainable. (Refer graph below) also recommended that switching MOSFET with small resistance used. With GM3326, resistance 500mW less recommended.
