BCM57710 provides fully integrated Layer Layer solution TCP/IP, RDMA, iSCSI along with dual 1000/2500/ 10GBASE-X Ethernet, IEEE 802.3-compliant Media Access Control (MAC) Physical Layer Transceiver solution high performance network applications. itself, BCM57710 provides complete single-chip dual-channel 10GBASE-KX4/10GBASE-CX4 C-NIC with TCP/IP, RDMA (RNIC), iSCSI HBA, functionality solution. Interfacing various 10-Gbps SerDes products from Broadcom, BCM57710 used multiple application scenarios. Using Broadcom's BCM87xx devices, interface allows interface modules. Different companion devices used 10GBase-KR other copper interfaces. BCM57710 third generation C-NIC different from Layer-2 Ethernet network controllers. When transmitting, BCM57710 access data posted application buffers other buffers process TCP/IP, iSCSI, RDMA layers, appropriate headers fields (e.g., markers) transmit data, thereby relieving host from these time-consuming operations. receive path, BCM57710 processes frame highest layer present TCP, iSCSI, RDMA, strip headers special fields (e.g., markers) place data with zero copy best buffer available data application buffer, level buffer, generic buffer.
