Features Very small Package Height. Description This very small, package height high performance incremental encoder module. Theory Operation AEDS-964X C-shaped emitter/detector module. Coupled with codewheel, translates rotary motion into two-channel digital output, coupled with codestrip, translates linear motion into digital outputs. seen Figure module contains single Light Emitting Diode (LED) light source. light collimated into parallel beam means single lens located directly over LED. Opposite emitter integrated detector circuits. This consists multiple sets photodetectors signal processing circuitry necessary produce digital waveforms. codewheel/codestrip moves between emitter detector, causing light beam interrupted pattern spaces bars codewheel/codestrip. photodiodes which detect these interruptions arranged pattern that corresponds radius count density codewheel/codestrip. These detectors also spaced such that light period pair detectors corresponds dark period adjacent pairs detectors. photodiode outputs through signal processing circuitry. comparators receive these signals produce final outputs Channels this integrated phasing technique output channel quadrature with Channel degrees phase).
Definitions Note: Refer Figure Count (N): number window pairs counts resolution (CPR) codewheel. Cycle (C): electrical degrees (°e), window pair. Shaft Rotation: mechanical degrees, cycles. Each state width from ideal value 90°e. Pulse Width(P): number electrical degree that output high during cycle. This value nominally 180° cycle. Pulse Width Error (DP): deviation, electrical degrees, pulse width from ideal value 180° State Width(S): number electrical degrees between transition output channel neighboring transition output channel There states cycle, each nominally State Width Error (P): deviation, electrical degrees each state width from ideal value 90°.
