Data Sheet Supplement PROM Programmer Manufacturers
This supplement with Am29LV400B data sheet, document number 21523. This document describes sector protection sector unprotection functions intended programming equipment. Am29LV400B device also offers in-system sector protection unprotection. Refer data sheet more information.
Sector Unprotection
Sectors previously protected subsequently unprotected accommodate code changes, using Sector Unprotect Mode. Prior initiating code change previously protected sector sectors must placed into Sector Protect Mode using Sector Protection Algorithm. activate sector unprotection, apply 10%; programming equipment must then force address control (VID RESET#, sector addresses A17-A12 should sector unprotected. unprotection mechanism begins falling edge pulse terminated with rising edge same. Refer Figure Figure sector unprotection algorithm waveforms. Remove prior removing VCC. Verification sector unprotection similar that sector protection. programming equipment must force address with Scanning sector addresses A17-A12 while (A6, (VIH, VIH, VIL) will produce device outputs (DQ0-DQ7) unprotected sector. this mode, lower order addresses, except don't care. Address locations with reserved Autoselect manufacturer device codes. Note that temporary sector unprotect procedure found Am29LV400B data sheet.
Sector Protection
Am29LV400B features hardware sector protection. This feature will disable both program erase operations number available sectors. sector protect feature enabled using programming equipment user's site. Devices shipped with sectors unprotected. Alternatively, program protect sectors factory prior shipping device (AMD's ExpressFlashService). activate sector protect mode, apply 10%; programming equipment must then force address control OE#, (VID CE#, RESET#. sector addresses A17-A12 should sector protected. Programming protection circuitry begins falling edge pulse terminated with rising edge same. Sector addresses must held constant during pulse. Refer Figure Figure sector protection algorithm waveforms. Remove prior removing VCC. verify programming protection circuitry, programming equipment must force address with VIH. Scanning sector addresses A17-A12 while (A6, (VIL, VIH, VIL) will produce device outputs (DQ0- DQ7) protected sector. this mode, lower order addresses, except don't care. Address locations with reserved Autoselect manufacturer device codes.
