Clock Data Synchronization
Automatic clock-data synchronization (CDS) offered feature APEXII devices. uses training pattern synchronize between clock data. There three synchronization modes:
Single-bit (automatic) Multi-bit (automatic) Pre-programmed (-180, -90, degrees) (manual)
single mode operation, intended compensate skew period. multi-bit synchronization mode operation, intended compensate unlimited skew. These automatic options able select correct phase clock sample data correctly certain clock data phase relationships. This makes feature unreliable unusable automatic mode. Hence, they will removed longer available APEX devices. Quartus® software will modified reflect this change version 5.0. APEX device users will still able manual pre-programmed mode CDS.
