Evaluation Board Description Setting
evaluation board consists four-layer board. inputs driver AC-coupled accessible through connectors. board positive ground (VCC ground) that will allow coupling scope needed. There power supply connectors board, (Ground) (VCC2) used compliance voltage measurement only. Board Setting Jumper installed JP1. make load when scope connected J3-4. Board Operation connectors, J1-J2, connect signal driver's inputs. J3-J4 driver's outputs, connected scope. Install jumper normal operation. Connect power supply between (VCC1) (VEE). (VCC2) connected normal operation reserved AC-compliance voltage measurement. Adjust modulation current with potentiometer modulation current measured with following methods: Measure output swing scope divide load board comes with load Measure IM_SET voltage (central pin) potentiometer (R4) modulation gain curve below deduce IMOD.
Compliance Voltage Measurement
Remove jumper from apply separate 3.3V variable voltage source (VCC2) TP5. modulation current value between 10mA 90mA. currents more than 70mA, lower load, example //scope), must used avoid saturation driver's output. Apply valid signal input driver clean output (MOD-), than decrease VCC2 slowly until MOD- starts degrade. Record value VCC2 (VCC2_sat) just before starts degrade (the driver starts saturate). compliance voltage voltage VMOD-_sat MOD- given VMOD-_sat VCC2_sat)/(R1+50) IMOD R1/(R1+50). Where scope input impedance. Modulation Current Measurement board back normal operation disconnecting installing jumper JP1. Connect disable driver. Measure modulation current using methods described above (board operation section).
