This evaluation board used evaluate both MIC5190 MIC5191 high speed LDO's. MIC5190/1 linear controllers that require external N-Channel MOSFET operation. This allows device tailored application. This evaluation board features very RDS(ON) MOSFET that handle with airflow. dropout voltages (VIN VOUT), this evaluation board deliver current. MIC5190 used voltages less than MIC5191 applications greater than 1Vout.
Requirements
MIC5190/1 evaluation board requires input supply voltages. power supply VIN, which also connected drain N-Channel MOSFET must able deliver amount load current required. operating range supply 5.5V, must also higher voltage than output voltage plus dropout voltage. second supply, VCC, operating range from 13.2V. supplies gate drive MOSFET, therefore voltage must also greater than MOSFETs gate source threshold required regulation.
current limit paragraph. Connect external supply -Apply desired input voltage ground terminals evaluation board, paying careful attention polarity supply voltage (4.5V<VIN<13.2V). Ensure supply voltage monitored terminal. Connect load VOUT ground terminals- load either passive (resistive) active electronic load). ammeter placed between load VOUT terminal. Ensure output voltage monitored VOUT terminal. default output voltage 0.9V MIC5190 1.2V MIC5191. This adjusted changing feedback resistors. (see next paragraph Output Voltage) Enable MIC5190/1 Apply 0.8V greater voltage source enable pin. Alternatively, device enabled tying either enable.
Output Voltage
output voltage MIC5190/1 evaluation board adjustable. output voltage controlled feedback resistors calculated follows: VOUT VREF( VREF equal 0.5V MIC5190 MIC5191.The evaluation board initially adjusted 0.9V (MIC5190) 1.2V (MIC5191), easily modified removing replacing with value that yields desired output voltage. Getting Started
Connect external supply -Apply desired input voltage ground terminals evaluation board, paying careful attention polarity supply voltage (0.9V<VIN<5.5V). Ensure supply voltage monitored terminal. ammeter and/or power supply lead resistance reduce voltage supplied input. Since default configuration both ISENSE pins together, MIC5190/1 evaluation board offers current limit protection.
