General Description
This evaluation board provides platform evaluating MIC2186 high power boost controller boost topology. evaluation board schematic shown Figure Please refer MIC2186 data sheet detailed explanation MIC2186 boost converter operation.

Requirements
evaluation board requires input power source. source must able supply least 8.5A maximum power from output. output loaded with resistive active load. active load constant current constant resistance mode.
Precautions
evaluation board does have input reverse polarity protection. Applying negative voltage terminal (with respect ground) permanently damage components board. maximum input voltage limited volts MIC2186 maximum voltage rating. Exceeding this voltage damage exceed output. VINP MIC2186 connected output voltage. Exceeding damage part.

Getting Started
Connect input voltage source terminal terminal ammeter placed between source terminal monitor input current. Connect load output terminal, terminal ammeter used output well. output voltage with jumper JP4. Apply 3.3V input. main output voltage, measured between terminals should selected value. switching waveform (VSW) monitored with oscilloscope input side inductor (junction inductor PCB).

Input Undervoltage Lockout
Resistors input undervoltage lockout feature. When (EN/UVLO) pulled VIN, MIC2186 typically starts switching input voltage 2.9V. start voltage increased using R7/R8 voltage divider. formula calculate turn voltage
Jumper Settable Options
There jumpers board that used select various options output voltage. Three standard voltages selected placing shorting jumper across proper pins header JP4, illustrated output voltage jumper chart. Open resistor location allows user program output voltage from 14V. desired output voltage main output, resistor value calculated equation below.
