NTSC reception Grade 2,3. SITE-3: US50 DISTANCE TRANSMITTER: 5.45MILES degrees LOCATION: (N38d52m01.0s, W077d07m12.1s) TIME: 3:45PM WEATHER CONDITION: PARTIALLY CLOUDY WIND CONDITION: WINDY (Gusting 5mph) ANTENNA DIRECTION HEIGHT: Pointing transmitter 15ft high NOTES: line sight transmitter, in-between hills. Using truck antenna, mostly moderate- low-amplitude quasi-static echoes. NTSC audio carrier from Channel adjacent Channel audio carrier particularly strong this location. Channel some dynamic multipath. There beat pilot 10dB notches spectrum. Reception with errors multipath Channel especially bad. deep notches (14dB 18dB) swept spectrum segment errors were observed. NTSC reception quality 3-3.5 SITE-4: Elliot Avenue DISTANCE TRANSMITTER: 4.91MILES degrees LOCATION: TIME: 17:00PM WEATHER CONDITION: PARTIALLY CLOUDY WIND CONDITION: WINDY (gusting 5-10mph) ANTENNA DIRECTION HEIGHT: Pointing transmitter high NOTES: delay spread about there long echo 36-37us with 12-14dB down from main path. equalizer coefficients were captured further analysis. Fast dynamic multipath observed Channel with deep notches with flat fading upto 15dB. Sync achieved. Channel dynamic multipath with notches 15dB channel. Same phenomenon also valid Channel Both segment errors. Channel both dynamic multipath flat fading which sometimes caused 20dB spectral tilts well 15dB notches. Channel received with segment errors. Long ghosts effected NTSC well. quality reception NTSC 2.5. SITE-5: Bridge Marriot Hotel (Indoor) DISTANCE TRANSMITTER: 3MILES LOCATION: TIME: 20:00PM WEATHER CONDITION: WIND CONDITION: ANTENNA DIRECTION HEIGHT: Pointing degrees with respect transmitter floor NOTES: room facing opposite direction with respect transmitters. Radioshack bowtie antenna used during these tests. possible place antenna location receive individual channels. location chosen front window measurements were made channels without changing location antenna. Channel multipath characteristics even though receivable slightly rotating antenna different angle. other channels quasi-static multipath characteristics they were receivable with errors except Channel NTSC audio carrier from Channel wasn't attenuated sufficiently which main problem. SITE-6: Shirlington Circle (Wakefield 29th St.) DISTANCE TRANSMITTER: 6.77MILES degrees LOCATION: N38d50m31.5s, W077d05m47.6s TIME: 11:00PM WEATHER CONDITION: SUNNY WIND CONDITION: WINDY (gusting 10mph) ANTENNA DIRECTION HEIGHT: Pointing transmitter 20ft high NOTES: Typical residential area with story townhouses surrounded trees. locations were tested same site. First have multipath moved truck feet. second location closer trees than first dynamic multipath conditions were stronger. results second location. Channel received, channel received with segment errors. Channels segment errors were below TOV.
