Layout Considerations
Circuit board layout design significantly affect MAX3971's performance. good high-frequency techniques, including fixed-impedance transmission lines high-frequency data signal. multilayer board with solid ground plane. Minimize inductance between MAX3971 ground plane. MAX3971 uses three power supply pins (VCC1, VCC2, VCC3). input circuitry MAX3971 supplied VCC1. output drivers have separate supply (VCC3), which usually large pulsing currents. other circuitry powered VCC2. possible simply connect three pins together. However, better isolation input circuitry ensured using supply filter. optimal isolation, Figure shows possible supply filtering circuit. Element ferrite bead, provides isolation between noisy VCC3 sensitive VCC1.
