Description
Linear B2526 dual high-side power switch recommended self-powered bus-powdered universal serial (USB) application conforming requirements. voltage drop requirements, fault current limited 750mA, flag output indicate fault connections local controller features that meet requirements. DESCRIPTION
Name (A)/(B) FLAG (A)/(B) VOUT (A)/(B) Function Enable (Input): Logic-compatible enables input. High input 2.1V typical. input 1.9V typical (B2526-1 active high, B2526 active low). Fault Flag (Output): Active-low, open-drain output. Indicates over current, UVLO thermal shutdown. Ground: Supply return. Supply Input: Output MOSFET drain. Also supplies IC's internal circuitry. Connect positive supply. Switch Output: Output MOSFET source. Typically connect switched side load.
DETAILED DESCRIPITION
Power Switch power switch N-Channel MOSFET with maximum on-state resistance 140m (VIN 5V). power switch supplies minimum 500mA switch. Enable Logic enable disables power switch bias charge pump, driver other circuitry reduce supply current less than when logic high present B2526-2 logic present B2526-1. enable input compatible with both CMOS logic levels. Driver driver controls gate voltage power switch. Limit large current surges driver incorporates circuitry that controls rise fall times output voltage. Charge Pump internal charge pump supplies power driver circuit provides necessary voltages pull gate MOSFET above source. Fault Flag (A)/(B) N-Channel, open drain MOSFET output. fault flag active (low) more following conditions: undervoltage (while 2.7V), current limit thermal shutdown. flag output MOSFET capable sinking 10mA load typically 100mV above ground. Multiple pins "wired NORed" common pull-up resistor. Thermal Shutdown internal thermal sense circuit shuts power switch when junction temperature rises approximately 150°C. Hysteresis built into thermal sense circuit. Current Sense sense monitors current supplied load. When overload short circuit encountered, current sense circuitry sends control signal driver. driver turn reduces gate voltage sends power into saturation region, which switches output into constant current mode. 2526 current-limit profile exhibits small foldback effect approximately 500mA. Once this current-limit threshold exceeded device enters constant current mode. constant current specified short circuit current limit "Electrical Characteristics" table. important note that 2526 will deliver load current current-limit Threshold which typically 1.6A (2.2Amax)." Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) UVLO prevents output MOSFET form turning until exceeds 2.5V. under-voltage state, will low. After switch turns voltage drops below approximately 2.3V, UVLO shuts output MOSFET signals fault flag. Under-voltage detection functions only when least switch enabled.
