VP513 Thermal Design VP513 Since VP513 includes three channels, first consider single channel. chip temperature each transistor under actual operating conditions determined using following formula. (Tri) (Tri) (Tri) [°C] (Tri): Thermal resistance individual transistor (Tri): Collector loss individual transistor Case temperature rise Ambient temperature j-c(Tri) each chip (Tr1) 45°C/W/j-c (Tr2) (Tr4) 35°C/W. Although loss each transistor Video Pack varies with frequency uniform, assume that maximum operating frequency, (clock), then chips with largest loss will transistors (Tr3 Tr4) that loss will about total loss.Thus from single channel have: (Tr3) (1CH) 1/4. Here, must select heat sink with capacity such that these transistors does exceed 150°C. Equation below gives relationship between (TOTAL) required calculated using this equation equation (1).
