FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION UR7HCTS2-U860 consists functionally five major sections (see Functional Diagram Page These Sensor Interface, Power Management Section, 16-Bit Timer, Oscillator Circuit Interface. OSCILLATOR This built-in Oscillator circuit capable operations with external 6.00 Clock source, Ceramic Resonator (preferably with built-in Load Capacitors) Crystal with external Load Capacitors. POWER MANAGEMENT According specification, there activity port system considered suspended state. ScreenCoderUSB detecting that system suspend, will check state touch screen right button. there touch pressure detected button pressed, ScreenCoderUSB enters into suspended state. suspend fully complies with specification power consumption, dissipating current only USB-mandated pull-up device identification. TOUCH SCREEN SENSOR INTERFACE ScreenCoderUSB acquire data from 8-wire resistive touch screen sensors. sensor interface following features:
Touch detection
periodically checks touch pressure applied panel. there touch, will perform measurements will send data system. When touch pressure detected, further qualifies determines amount pressure. Semtech's proprietary, patent-pending touch detection algorithm performs this test very quickly, accommodating sensors with various plate-to-plate capacitances.
Touch Measurement
Position information only collected been determined that touch pressure sufficient accurate reading. obtain position information from Resistive Touch Screen Sensor, ScreenCoderUSB uses four internal drivers (two pins each driver) four sense lines. During sampling, drivers X-axis activated setting X-drive high other X-drive low. drivers Y-axis floating. This action produces voltage gradient across touch screen's surface direction. internal measures both voltage across activated X-plane voltage potential between planes. Next, drivers Yaxis activated while drivers X-axis floating. Again, internal measures both voltage across activated plane potential between planes. absolute position obtained from these four measurements. keeps measuring touch pressure even while positioning data acquired. insufficient touch pressure detected during sampling position, current data will rejected.
Touch algorithm
vibration electrical noise, data used directly. Internal data processing delivers consistent position accuracy quick touch response.
Resolution
ScreenCoderUSB uses built-in converter touch position. maximum touch screen resolution 1000 points direction. Resolution varies somewhat different touch screen sensors, voltage droop connecting wires.
Touch screen from different makers
Operating parameters touch screens from different manufacturers vary depending size sensor, material made from, mechanical construction. ScreenCoderUSB takes these properties into account, adjusts automatically plate-to-plate capacitance, intrinsic plate resistances, etc.
