DESCRIPTION
SY88923 limiting post amplifier with high gain wide bandwidth ideal post amplifier fiber-optic receivers with data rates 2.5Gbps. Signals small 5mVp-p amplified drive devices with PECL inputs. SY88923 generates chatter-free Loss Signal (LOS) open collector output. SY88923 incorporates programmable level detect function identify when input signal been lost. This information back input device maintain stability under loss signal condition. Using LOSLVL pin, sensitivity level detection adjusted. LOSLVL voltage connecting resistor divider between VREF. Figure Figure show relationship between input level sensitivity voltage LOSLVL. Figure shows relationship between input level sensitivity resistor divider ratio. output open collector output that requires pull-up resistor proper operation, Figure

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
General SY88923 integrated limiting amplifier intended high-frequency fiber-optic applications. circuit connects typical transimpedance amplifiers found within fiber-optics link. linear signal output from transimpedance amplifier contain significant amounts noise, vary amplitude over time. SY88923 limiting amplifier quantizes signal outputs voltagelimited waveform. allows user disable output signal without removing input signal.

Output Termination SY88923 outputs must terminated with load thevenin equivalent). Layout Design Since SY88923 high-frequency component, performance largely determined board layout design. common problem with high-gain amplifiers feedback from large swing outputs input power supply. SY88923 ground should connected circuit board ground. multiple vias close part connect ground. Avoid long, inductive runs which degrade performance.
