PCX-150 air-cooled, high power pulsed current source designed drive diode lasers, bars arrays. delivers current pulses variable from 150A, pulse widths variable from <50µs 5ms, with rise times <5µs, pulse repetition frequencies variable from single shot 5KHz duty cycles 20%. microprocessor-controlled front-panel RS-232/IEEE-488 interface provide individual control each electronic function, while backlit display provides immediate visual confirmation operating parameters, including output current setpoint amplitude, pulse width, repetition frequency, duty cycle, error fault messages. front panel controls allow user either pulse width frequency independently, frequency duty cycle, which then sets pulse width accordingly. front panel display monitors both setpoints, actual current delivered diode. Analog current voltage monitors synchronization output also provided monitoring current voltage laser diode. addition stand-alone operation, PCX-150 externally triggered. Connection laser diode made through innovative front panel, impedance ribbon cable, designed preserve
fidelity high-speed, large-amplitude current pulses. output connector interlocked, that PCX-150 disabled when connector removed. PCX-150 features advanced circuitry protect both diode driver. relay closure shorts output ground when power driver turned off. turn time driver pulsing, PCX-150's output electronically shorted ground, ensuring that current flows through diode except during period pulse. addition, actual current through diode monitored real-time. actual current ever exceeds user-adjustable current setpoint, driver truncates output current pulse, electronically shorts output ground, displays error message frontpanel display. addition, PCX-150 factory-set hardware-controlled current-limit independent, useradjustable current limit. This provides fail-safe mechanism prohibit user from setting current amplitude setpoint above user-controlled current limit. user-selectable slow-start option allows user configure slow-start current ramp, shown waveform below.
