Duplex Driver with Dimming, Keyscan Converter Function
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
MSC1215-xx 1/2-duty vacuum fluorescent display tube driver implemented BiCMOS technology. This consists 37-bit shift register, latches, analog dimming circuit, conversion circuit), keyscan circuit, 6ch-6-bit converter segment drivers, 2-grid pre-drivers. MSC1215-xx capabilities displaying audio system frequencies various informations tube automobile application also interfacing with keyboard inputs analog volume input. automobile audio systems, front panel functions (such frequency display, keyboard input analog voltage input from volume) accomplished this analog dimming/PWM conversion modes selected automatically brightness control, this applicable type automobile without change specifications. interface with done only with wires (CS, DATA CLOCK signals). Also, DATA CLOCK signal lines shared with other peripherals because chip select function signal.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Functional Description Power supply input Connected power supply Ground This level. CLOCK Serial clock input Chip select input When input this pin, interfacing with available through CLOCK DATA pins. CH1-6 Analog voltage input converter COL1-4 matrix input pins These pins active "Low" pulled through built-in resistors except when input pushed down key. ROW1-3 matrix scanning output Normally ROW1-3 output "L", detecting switch pushed down released, scan starts, sending pulses times data, after above turning from "H". After scan stops, outputs turn "L". OSC0, oscillation input pins resistor capacitor connected these pins. (See figure below)

Note: Three bits test data used shipping inspection. normal operation mode, these bits should level. Keyscan Data Output Data output available only when applied "CS" pin. When keyscan data output mode selected, "DATA I/O" changed output mode. Then, bits keyscan data come from "DATA I/O" synchronizing with rising edge clock. This output mode changed data output mode falling edge input signal. select directly display input mode from this output mode, serial pulses should input pin. [Data Format]
