Detailed Description
RS-232-Compatible Drivers
transmitter inverting level translator that converts CMOS-logic levels EIA/TIA-232-compatible levels. guarantees data rates 460kbps with worst-case loads parallel with 1000pF. When SHDN driven low, transmitter disabled into 3-state mode. transmitter input does have pull-up resistor. Connect ground unused.

MAX3314's receiver converts RS-232 signals CMOS-logic output levels. receiver rated signals ±25V. MAX3314's receiver will remain active during shutdown mode.

Transmitter Output When Exiting Shutdown
Figure shows transmitter output when exiting shutdown mode. transmitter loaded with parallel with 1000pF. transmitter output displays ringing undesirable transients MAX3314 comes shutdown. Note that transmitter enabled only when magnitude exceeds approximately -3V.
