Functionality

EASY3445

TE3-MUX The TE3-MUX integrates a DS3 framer with a M13 multiplexer, a tributary interchanger / line selector between the 28 multiplexed lines and the 32 external serial line interfaces and the additional 4 DS1 / E1 lines can be used for connecting test ports or to provide line protection capability. The TE3-MUX is an optimized solution for applications, which require DS3 framing but no DS1 / E1 framers. This is often required in Central office applications where DS1 / E1 from different equipment are multiplexed into one DS3 signal. The TE3-MUX allows the DS1 / E1 to be aggregated into DS3 without the additional cost of framers. Line and remote loopback capabilities can be used to trouble shoot in case of line failures. The device also provides an extensive test unit for bit error rate measurements.
