Smart Voltage Regulator Peripheral Card Applications
MC33565 Dropout Regulator designed computer peripheral card applications complying with instantly available requirements specified ACPI objectives. MC33565 permits glitch-free transitions from "sleep" "active" system modes internal logic circuitry detect whether system being powered from motherboard main power supply 3.3V supply. MC33565 provides regulated output voltage 3.3V either internal drop 5.0V-to-3.3V voltage regulator external P-channel MOSFET, depending operating status system which card installed. During normal operating mode main supply available) 3.3V output provided from internal dropout regulator output current 200mA. When motherboard enters sleep mode, MC33565 operates from 3.3V supply routes current output external P-channel MOSFET bypass transistor controlled drive pin. result, output voltage provided peripheral card remains constant 3.3V even during transitions from sleep mode. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Input Blocking internal pass transistor regulator ensures that significant reverse current will flow from +3.3 Vout back input when input powered supply present. Volt Detect Internal circuitry detects presence input supply. When supply drops below given threshold, +3.3 bypass transistor external P-channel MOSFET) enabled. detect logic active throughout entire range ramp-up from 5.5V. Additionally, Drive signal never turned inappropriately during ramp-up supply. Also, +3.3 Vout never drops below 3.0V while above detect minimum threshold. Glitch-free Transfer design detect circuitry Drive control circuitry guarantees that
