Note "Absolute Maximum Ratings" indicate limits beyond which damage device occur. Operating Ratings indicate conditions which device functional, guarantee specific performance limits. Note input voltage allowed more than -0.3V below (GND) this will turn parasitic transistor causing large currents flow through device. Note Short circuits from output cause excessive heating eventual destruction. maximum sourcing output current approximately independent magnitude values supply voltage excess VDC, continuous short-circuit exceed power dissipation ratings (particularly elevated temperatures) cause eventual destruction. Destructive dissipation result from simultaneous shorts amplifiers. Note operation elevated temperatures, these devices must derated based thermal resistance max. jaPD. Note LP2902 operated from -40°C +85°C, LP324 operated from +70°C. Note Boldface numbers apply temperature extremes. other numbers apply only 25°C, V/2, 100k connected unless otherwise specified. Note Guaranteed 100% production tested. Note Guaranteed (but 100% production tested) over operating supply voltage range (3.0V LP324, LP324, 3.0V LP2902), common mode range -1.5V), unless otherwise specified. These limits used calculate outgoing quality levels. Note LP2902 operating supply range 26V, tested above 26V. Note test circuit used consists human body model series with 1500.

LP324 series micro-power pin-for-pin equivalent LM324 amps. Power supply current, input bias current, input offset current have been reduced factor over LM324. Like predecessor, LP324 series amps operate single supply, have true-differential inputs, remain linear mode with input common-mode voltage VDC. pinouts package have been designed simplify board layouts. Inverting inputs adjacent outputs amplifiers outputs have also been placed corners package (pins 14).
Precautions should taken insure that power supply integrated circuit never becomes reversed polarity unit inadvertently installed backwards test socket unlimited current surge through resulting forward diode within could destroy unit. Large differential input voltages easily accommodated and, input differential voltage protection diodes needed, large input currents result from large differential input voltages. differential input voltage larger than without damaging device. Protection should provided prevent input voltages from going negative more than -0.3 25°C). input clamp diode with resistor input terminal used.

amplifiers have class output stage which allows amplifiers both source sink output currents. applications where crossover distortion undesirable, resistor should used from output amplifier ground. resistor biases output into class operation. LP324 improved stability margin driving capacitive loads. special precautions needed drive loads 1000 range. should noted however that since power supply current been reduced factor also slew rate gain bandwidth product. This reduction cause reduced performance applications where LM324 being replaced LP324. Such situations usually occur when LM324 been operated near power bandwidth. Output short circuits either ground positive power supply should short time duration. Units destroyed, result short circuit current causing metal fusing, rather large increase chip dissipation which will cause eventual failure excessive junction temperatures. example: four amplifiers were simultaneously shorted ground supply junction temperature would rise 110°C. Driving CMOS
Exceeding negative common-mode limit either input will cause reversal phase output force amplifier corresponding high state. Exceeding negative common-mode limit both inputs will force amplifier output high state. Exceeding positive common-mode limit single input will change phase output. However, both inputs exceed limit, output amplifier will forced state. neither case does latch occur since returning input within common mode range puts input stage thus amplifier normal operating mode. circuits presented section typical applications emphasize operation only single power supply voltage. complementary power supplies available, standard circuits used. general, introducing pseudo-ground bias voltage reference V+/2) will allow operation above below this value single power supply systems. Many application circuits shown which take advantage wide input common-mode voltage range which includes ground. most cases, input biasing required input voltages which range ground easily accommodated.
