MAX4104 Evaluation
MAX4104 evaluation kit) simplifies evaluation MAX4104 ultra-high-speed, low-noise, 880MHz amplifier. circuit demonstrates MAX4104 noninverting unity-gain configuration. RF-style connectors (SMA) terminating resistors included test equipment compatibility. MAX4104 also used evaluate MAX4105, MAX4304, MAX4305. Simply order free sample appropriate part (MAX4105ESA, MAX4304ESA, MAX4305ESA), replace board, change gain-setting resistors desired gain. MAX4104 fully assembled tested. Follow these steps verify board operation. turn power supply until connections completed. circuit requires supply voltages ±3.5V ±5.5V. evaluation purposes, connect supply labeled supply labeled VEE. Connect power-supply grounds marked GND. Connect output marked oscilloscope through terminated cable. Turn power supply. Apply signal ±3.4V maximum connector marked Verify output signal oscilloscope. Note: when using terminated oscilloscope input, output amplitude observed oscilloscope will half that input, voltage divider formed 49.9 back-terminating resistor (R2) oscilloscope input termination impedance.
_Layout Considerations
MAX4104 layout been optimized high-speed signals distortion, with careful attention given grounding, power-supply bypassing, signal-path layout. small, surface-mount, ceramic bypass capacitors have been placed close MAX4104 supply pins possible. continuous ground plane been maintained under reduce inductance signal return path. Capacitance inverting input been minimized reducing feedbacktrace length using 0805-size surface-mount feedback gain-set resistors.
