Application Brief
Personal monitor using DSP56F803/5
Personal electrocardiogram (ECG) monitors devices capable rescue human life. However, their high price obstructs expansion. cost, single chip solution with Motorola 56F803 change that obstruction. proposed solution, shown Figure1, describes control digital processing aspects. signal collected probes located skin near heart. Then signal amplified read analog digital converter ADC, internal peripheral. quality collected signal depends probe location. This influence compensated using multiple probes different positions. maximal probe number limited number channels. 56803 channels, each multiplexed four pins. Eight sources analog signals connected all. connected phone line subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC). remaining seven pins connected probes. Three probes considered common set. samplings will taken time, third will sampled consecutively. Maximal sampling frequency used kHz, common sampling frequency signal there enough reserve perform time multiplexed sampling. resolution 12-bit, also enough this purpose

Figure Personal monitor using DSP56F803/5 sampled signal stored, using double buffering technique-one buffer storing, second buffer data processing. Following signal processing filtering, abnormalities detection, optional data compression. Usual monitors three filters: notch 50/60Hz, band stop 35Hz- muscle interference, high pass -drift compensation. Instruction DSP56F803 adapted digital filtering above mentioned filters implemented very effectively. simply described periodic pulse signal, wide range abnormalities described literature.1 simplify evaluation, determine difference between measured
