Application Note Regulator
Temperature Reliability
Reliability generally heavily dependent operating temperature. Heat radiation must fully considered, ample margin should given radiating area designing heatsinks. When mounting heatsinks, always apply silicone grease firmly tighten. convection should actively used actual heat dissipation. reliability capacitors coils, peripheral components, also closely related temperature. high operating temperature reduce service life. Exceeding allowable temperature cause coils burned capacitors damaged. Make sure that output smoothing coils input/output capacitors exceed their allowable temperature limit operation. recommend, particular, provide ample margin ratings coils minimize heat generation. generally used. Moreover, heat dissipation capacity heatsink heavily dependent mounted. therefore important recommended measure heatsink case temperature actual operating environments. Ta-PD characteristics provided each product type reference purposes.
Setting Input Voltage
Observe following precautions when setting input voltage: (min) must least output voltage plus dropout voltage dropper type. must least recommended lowest input voltage switching type. (max) must exceed input voltage electrical characteristics.
