SEIGNEURIE J.M. HERVE
Overview.
This document describes design STPC Elite that prototyped STPC Consumer-S. purpose start STPC Elite design prior silicon availability. information extracted from STPC Consumer-S STPC Elite datasheets.
Differences between devices.
Functional difference.
STPC Elite described graphics-less video-less version STPC Consumer-S. result, list functionnal differences between devices relatively simple. Improved features: STPC Elite supports 64-Mbit 128-Mbit SDRAM devices. features: JTAG. General Purpose I/Os. 24MHz DEV_CLK General Purpose programmable Clock (ball H24). Removed features: graphics video related features.
STPC Elite manufactured 0.25µm technology with corresponding advantages: speed, power consumption.

Solution.
2.5V Power Pins.
STPC Elite certain number balls powered with 2.5V supply 3.3V. These must connected 2.5V supply which located same plane 3.3V supply. VSS_DLL ball (E25) needs connected ground (Consumer-S) 2.5V power plane (Elite) using null resistor, solder drop, equivalent method.

only features STPC Elite which tested with STPC Consumer-S General Purpose Signals. These GPIOs need carrefully connected board their functionnality case STPC Consumer-S: GPIO[1:0] correspond outputs. GPIO[9:2] correspond inputs. GPIO[14:10] correspond analog signals. GPIO[15] corresponds power supply. When STPC Consumer-S mounted, inputs left routed according STPC Elite configuration, outputs could left connected their behaviour must create conflicts, other signals must connected described table. Strap options.
strap options implemented STPC Consumer-S, this does affect behaviour device. strap options with different value should remain easy modify. This achieved adding dummy resistor schematics doing final choice during assembly board.
