Single/Dual/Quad, General-Purpose, Low-Voltage, Rail-to-Rail Output Amps
LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 single/dual/quad, low-cost, low-voltage, pin-to-pin compatible upgrades LMV321/LMV358/LMV324 family general purpose amps. These devices offer Rail-to-Rail® outputs input common-mode range that extends below ground. These amps draw only 105µA quiescent current amplifier, operate from single +2.3V supply, drive resistive loads within 40mV either rail. LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 unity-gain stable with 1.3MHz gain-bandwidth product capable driving capacitive loads 400pF. combination voltage, cost, small package size makes these amplifiers ideal portable/battery-powered equipment. LMX321 single available ultra-small 5pin SC70 space-saving 5-pin SOT23 packages. LMX358 dual available tiny 8-pin SOT23 package. LMX324 quad available 14-pin TSSOP packages.

Detailed Description
Input Protection Circuit
LMX321/LMX358/LMX324's inputs protected from large differential input voltages internal 3.5k series resistors back-to-back triple diode stacks across inputs (Figure differential input voltages (much less than 1.8V), input resistance typically differential input voltages greater than 1.8V, input resistance around input bias current approximated following equation: IBIAS (VDIFF 1.8V) region where differential input voltage approaches 1.8V, input resistance decreases exponentially from diode block begins conducting. Inversely, bias current increases with same curve.

Driving Capacitive Loads
Driving capacitive load cause instability many amps, especially those with quiescent current. LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 unity-gain stable range capacitive loads above 400pF. Figure shows response LMX321 with excessive capacitive load. Adding series resistor between output load capacitor (Figure improves circuit's response isolating load capacitance from amp's output.
Applications Information
Power-Up
LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 outputs typically settle within 10µs after power-up. Figure shows output voltage power-up power-down.
Rail-to-Rail Output Stage
LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 drive loads still typically swing within 40mV supply rails. Figure

Power Supplies Layout
LMX321/LMX358/LMX324 operate from single +2.3V power supply. Bypass power supply with 0.1µF capacitor ground close possible. Good layout techniques optimize performance minimizing amount stray capacitance amp's inputs outputs. Place external components close minimize trace lengths stray capacitance.
