iCoupler Dual-Channel Isolators Provide Industry's Smallest Isolation Solution
nalog Devices' family dual-channel digital isolators extends iCoupler® offering minimize board space usage. Configured 8-lead SOIC packages, these dual-channel isolators reduce board space associated with optocoupler solutions 70%. Also, bidirectional data flow supported within same component-a feature unavailable with optocoupler solution.
iCoupler isolators combine CMOS technology with chip scale transformers achieve isolation solutions that offer reduced size, cost, power consumption relative optocouplers. addition, unprecedented data rate timing specifications supported. ADuM1200/ADuM1201 dual-channel isolators eliminate complexity optocoupler solutions removing need external components supporting bidirectional data flow. typical 2-channel bidirectional optocoupler implementation requires optocouplers, well four external resistors bypass capacitors. This collection components consumes about board space. comparison, ADuM1201 iCoupler solution requires only iCoupler component bypass capacitors. This solution consumes only board space. Furthermore, power consumption reduced 1/50 level optocoupler solutions, depending data rates involved.
