Watchdog Supervisory Circuits
icroprocessors need reset when code execution errors occur, well when supply voltages fall invalid levels. watchdog function detect code execution errors monitoring frequent logic transitions microprocessor's output pin. transition detected within certain time period, watchdog circuit will initiate reset signal that will take microprocessor invalid state. Many reset generator watchdog circuits also feature power fail detection comparator that asserts active signal when unregulated power supply voltage falls below predetermined level. This power fail output used generate nonmaskable interrupt, which allows microprocessor implement shutdown procedure before power lost.

ADM1060 Multisupply Supervisory/Sequencing Circuit
ADM1060 programmable supervisory/sequencing device that offers single-chip solution supply fault detection sequencing multisupply systems. ADM1060 supervises these voltages determines order which they turn power-up power-down. many seven power inputs monitored, along with four general-purpose inputs watchdog input. Combinational logic programmable delay blocks allow sequenced assertion de-assertion nine output drivers. device configured 2-wire SMBusinterface, programmed configuration saved on-chip EEPROM.
