This section describes circuitry surrounding MAX2470/MAX2471 kits. more detailed information about device operation, please consult MAX2470/MAX2471 data sheet. Figure schematic MAX2470/MAX2471 kits. Capacitors 2200pF DCblocking capacitors; this value contributes minimal reactance signal paths, down 10MHz. Capacitors form decoupling network. Note location each component; relatively large 10µF tantalum capacitor, located near connector. Near much smaller 2200pF decoupling capacitor, reduces high-frequency interference. includes pads that facilitate simple termination input(s). MAX2470 kit, provide high-frequency filtering prevent excess noise from coupling into MAX2470 kit, jumper selects state HI/LO input MAX2470. Selecting "LO" setting optimizes MAX2470 input frequencies from 10MHz 200MHz. Selecting "HI" setting optimizes MAX2470 input frequencies from 10MHz 500MHz.
Connections Setup
Verify power supply less than +5.5V before connecting supply kit. good starting point +3.0V. Connect power supply between turn output power signal generator -20dBm 200MHz. Disable output, then connect output signal generator connector MAX2470 board. MAX2471, balun between signal generator differential inputs IN).
