Setting Streams with ADSP2100 Family Debugger Release
This procedure based examples that comes with ADSP-21xx software (Example found C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\VisualDSP\21xx\ Examples\Example2). This program talkthru program that simply passes data through serial ports. receives value SPORT1, then transmits through SPORT1. main part program infinite loop that waits SPORT1 receive interrupt occur. interrupt service routine performs data processing this example, transferring data from SPORT receive register SPORT transmit register). simulation purposes, input output files will used inputs outputs serial port. file, serin.dat provides input serial port. debugger creates file serout.dat stores output SPORT this file. This example also documented Chapter ADSP-2100 Family Assembler Tools Simulator Manual (page 7-25). Procedure setting this example Debugger Assemble link your code create executable. Open Debugger select session with ADSP-2101 target.
Load your executable into Debugger click RESET simulate code bootup. This will bring Streams dialog box. Make following selections: Under Source (Debug Target) select SPORT your device. Next, fill destination file associated with SPORT Under Destination (File) enter `serout.dat' whatever name choose output). Change format binary. Click Connect. These steps have configured output stream. Now, input stream, back Source (File). Browse select file, `serin.dat' which should C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Visual Dsp\Examples\Example2 directory. Change format binary. back Destination (Debug Target). Select SPORT your device. Click Connect. These steps have configured input stream. Check ACTIVE streams make sure your selections were correctly. Click close Streams Dialog Box. Jump location 0x0029 program change value 0x6b27 0x6a27 enable SPORT.
debugger generate RFS1 interrupt every cycles going INTERRUPTS selecting RFS1 (under External Interrupts) entering cycles. program. seconds, should error come that says Failed read from device: FILE (C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\Visual Binary)
Note: This means that Debugger reached file. Check contents your output file determine talkthru simulation executed properly. should same values serout.dat those serin.dat.
