Introduction
This Xicor Supervisors feature voltage reset controller, programmable watchdog timer, from bits bits serial EEPROM single package. Although these devices used with practically microcontroller, 8051 used here demonstrate operation. wrsr_cmd This command routine writes watchdog timeout period bits (WD0, WD1) Block Protect bits (BP0, BP1) status register. rdsr_cmd This command routine reads status register. byte_write This command routine writes single byte EEPROM memory array. byte_read This command routine reads single byte from EEPROM memory array. page_write This command routine writes consecutive bytes EEPROM memory array. easily modified write entire page (maximum bytes). sequ_read This command routine reads three consecutive bytes from EEPROM memory array. easily modified read number bytes. rst_wdog This routine used reset watchdog timer without sending command.
Implementation
circuit shown Figure illustrates connection Supervisor 8051 microcontroller. ports shown this figure correspond software routines related assembly code. following routines provided implementing interface these devices. wren_cmd This command routine sets write enable latch. this latch must before (and automatically reset after) writing either EEPROM memory array status register. wrdi_cmd This command routine resets write enable latch.
