Chapter Overview
GENERAL OVERVIEW
PowerTool500 Windows compatible software package that supports rapid development production rechargeable battery systems based Microchip's PS5XX ICs. PowerTool simplifies design process providing high-level, menu driven environment that allows designer quickly easily develop, calibrate test PS5XX-based battery systems. PowerTool software interfaces battery system through PowerInfo PowerInfo interface board PowerCal PowerCal calibration board. Dual data screens calculated data provide user friendly environment design debug well system emulation. During development, configuration defaults allow quick setup PS5XX controlled systems. simple parameter editor enhanced, interactive system emulator help tailor specific needs application battery. Entry battery parameters performed using battery cell specified units, such volts (V), millivolts (mV), milliamperes (mA) milliampere-hours (mAh). PowerTool interface divided into several pages which give access variety fuel gauge functions. With advanced features, PowerTool software increases value complete Microchip battery management solution lowering costs associated with development, minimizing time market maximizing production throughput.
