Surround MPC972 with 0.1uF caps provide good ground-return paths. Keep XTAL1 jumper insanely close. Place side board. equal-length traces nets DAK(2:0) from WinBond 'F138. Place series termination resistors near socket. very short traces from 32kHz crystal SuperI/O connected components. Allow other traces enter cross crystal oscillator area. traces VBAT VSTDBY. Place filtering caps ferrite beads very close DIN6 DB25 connectors. Place series resistors parallel port near DB25 connector. Keep traces very short between RS232 drivers (U1, connectors. traces +12V -12V. Place IDSEL resistor near IDSEL pin. Place IDSEL resistor near IDSEL pin. traces between battery connector diodes (before after). special restrictions. special restrictions. Recommended placement status LEDs under disk tray area. Place LEDs order label with indicated text. Follow chassis specs mounting hole sizes plated area allowance. Distribute capacitors shown, unless otherwise specified. Keep traces short possible. swapping within without package encouraged order minimize trace length.
